Time: 2045 hrs

A small home made device went off at approximately 1436 hrs this afternoon at the Sultan Park compound, Male’, which houses the National Museum.

This incident caused injury to 12 foreigners − 2 Japanese nationals, 2 British nationals and 8 Chinese nationals.

The Japanese and the British nationals were treated at the ADK hospital, while the Chinese were treated at the IGM hospital. The Japanese and the Chinese were treated for minor cuts and burns, while the British nationals were treated for more severe burns.

The 2 Japanese nationals and the 8 Chinese nationals, according to sources at the ADK and IGM hospitals, were discharged a short while ago.
