All environmental programs at Banyan Tree Maldives Vabbinfaru & Angsana
Ihuru are fully financed by Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts. It is our way
of giving back to nature. The initiatives will hopefully culminate in
valuable research that can help to save the marine environment in the
Maldives and around the world. If we can find effective means to develop
coral regeneration methods at a time when global warming becomes a
pressing issue, or help the Green Sea Turtle and Napoleon Wrasse Fish to
survive and reach a respectable age, we are one step closer to
preserving our beautiful but fragile environment.
We welcome
financial contributions, no matter how small. Your money could go
towards financing one of the following projects:
1. Coral Reef Regeneration Research: Vabbinfaru Lotus, Ihuru Barnacle,
Ihuru Necklace and Coral Transplantation
2. Green Sea Turtle Research & Satellite Tracking: It costs US$12,000 to
track one turtle via satellite for one year on its journey through the
Indian Ocean
3. Education Programs for School Children
4. Green Imperative Fund
